Two-time CMAA Golden Guitar ‘Female Artist of the Year’ finalist, Hayley Jensen, is making some big moves this year - going independent and releasing her powerful new single today titled ‘Bring It On’ via MGM. Stream on your favourite platform here: https://ffm.to/hjbringiton
Jensen is well known for her souring, powerhouse vocals and her new track, ‘Bring It On’ is no exception. Co-written with Joni Delaurier, with whom Hayley wrote her Australian #1 CountryTown Hot 50 single 'Karma', ‘Bring It On’ is full of groove and swagger, capturing Jensen’s unique, signature style of country to a tee. And just as we’ve come to expect from Hayley, it also contains a passionate message:
"We’ve all felt undervalued, underestimated & taken advantage of at some point in our lives. Just as we’ve all had self-doubt & questioned our worth. ‘Bring it On’ is an empowering anthem about standing up for yourself & finding the strength to fight for the life you deserve. I really hope this song inspires others to do just that!” says Hayley.
Accompanying the song is a punchy music video scripted by Hayley, and produced by Blacklist Productions. Star of the video - Hayley’s ‘fighting spirit’ - is World IBF #11 Female Boxing Champion, Viviana Ruiz, who’s own personal story of persecution and determination resonates impeccably with the theme of the song. Viviana moved from Columbia to create a better life for herself and her family. With little English and a University Degree that was no use to her here, she started boxing in her 30’s. Many told her “sorry darling you are way too old to start now” and “sorry love women’s boxing isn’t really a thing”, but she’s proved them all wrong. “She’s faced enormous adversity in her career - women in professional sport face many of the same challenges as women in music - add to that the cultural barriers she’s had to smash through, but she keeps fighting back & so do I!” - say’s Hayley.
Returning to her roots, Jensen partnered with MGM Distribution who helped launch her debut independent album, ‘Note To Self’ in 2006, after she placed 4th in Australian Idol. Since then, she’s had a hugely successful career in music and business. And with a Double Degree in Economics & Management under her belt, along with prior experience in the corporate world, she’s well equipped to oversee the business side of her career.
"Going independent at this point in my career was a big call, but it allows me to make the creative & business decisions that are right for me. MGM has been a trusted, professional partner through the years, so I’m excited to work more closely with Michael Chase and the team to achieve new heights - bring it on!” says Hayley.
‘Bring It On’ was produced by Troy Kokol at Reluctant Cowboy Records, Canada, who was also at the helm on her ARIA #1 Country Album, ‘Breakin' Hearts’, which re-entered the Top 10 on multiple occasions. Eight radio hits were lifted from the record, including the title track (which was a #1 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay chart and added to Spotify’s ‘Fresh Country’ playlist), ‘Better Than That’ & ‘Karma’ - one of the most played songs on SiriusXM CBC Music/Top of The Country across North America.
Hayley Jensen’s brand new single ‘Bring It On’ is out now, and fans can also catch Hayley performing at a number of upcoming festivals & dates in 2023.

LYRICS - BRING IT ON
© Hayley Jensen & Joni Delaurier
All my life I’ve been a fighter
Unapologetically me, a survivor
I’ve been strong,
But I own when I’m wrong
Maybe I’ll bruise but I never break
And underestimating’ me would be a bigger mistake
So be wise, think twice
You couldn’t hurt/crush me if you tried
Bring it on,
Be my guest
Yeah that's when I’m at my best
No you ain’t the first
To try to tear me down
I’m no fool, I won’t fall
When my back’s against the wall
You can count my scars
But don’t ever count me out
Ain’t givin’ up without a good fight so
So If you wanna take a shot you better get in line
Gloves off, no holding back now
Ain’t gonna quit what I was born to do
Coz I’ve fought a ^couple demons that were bigger than you
And I’ll win, again
So ^if you wanna meet me in the ring
Bring it on
Be my guest
Yeah that's when I’m at my best
No you ain’t the first
To try to tear me down
I’m no fool, I won’t fall
When my back’s against the wall
You can count my scars
But don’t ever count me out
When you think I’m on the ropes
There’s something you should know
Yuca do your worst but I won’t bend
Coz when push it comes to shove
And you think I’m givin up
I’ll show you what I’m made of in the end
Bring it on, be my guest
Yeah that's when I’m at my best
No you ain’t the first
To try to tear me down
I’m no fool, I won’t fall
When my back’s against the wall
You can count my scars
But don’t ever count me out
