1. We Are Here For The Eagles
Do your best to stay on topic of the Big Bear Eagle family & the surrounding ecosystem. For daily info about nest events, regularly check the Live Recap. When chat is slow, it may be acceptable to briefly share big news from other wildlife cameras; however, we do not encourage specific discussions or questions related to other wildlife projects because we do not have accurate & up-to-date information.
2. Give Peace A Chance
Folks of all ages and backgrounds watch the cam. Use polite, kind & sensitive language appropriate for all audiences. Agree to disagree respectfully and steer clear of prolonged arguments. If you see an inappropriate comment, please do not engage; let the moderator handle the situation.
3. The Eagles’ Well-being Is Our Priority
Be respectful & considerate to eagles* & nature. Details about nest & eagle trees locations (such as cardinal directions, distances, landmarks, camera placement etc.) are not disclosed to protect the eagles. While locations may be known to some, we ask that it not be spread. Oversharing on the internet has sadly had tragic outcomes at other nests.
4. Education & Safety For All
This is a public, family-friendly platform. We care about everyone’s safety. Please avoid the following content: controversial (politics, religion, sports & TV shows), adult (sexual topics, substances), personal subjects (locations, health issues etc.).
5. Roll Calls - What Are They?
Roll Call is when someone solicits responses from multiple chatters (eg. where is everyone from, multiple tagged greetings etc.). It results in numerous responses & can fill the chat quickly with off-topic. This practice is strictly discouraged in our fast moving chat.
6. Focus On Facts, Not Speculations
We all have a responsibility to keep the chat information factual & maintain a positive educational environment. Please do not generate engagement from drama, panic language, negative predictions or other triggers.
7. English Is A Universal Language
