Behdienkhlam is one of the many cultural festivals celebrated in Meghalaya, primarily among the people of the Jaintia Tribe who follow the indigenous faith. It is celebrated in the month of July during the monsoon season. The main purpose of this festival is to appease the gods to ensure a productive harvest as well as to ward off any diseases.
