Norwegian researchers explore Arctic ocean to study early life on earth | ANC
On The Scene: Norwegian researchers have found what could be an important piece in the answer to how life on earth originated. 3000 meters below sea level they have found what are called "black chimneys". Here, glowing water and steam flow out from the earth's interior and give life to small organisms that gather around the hot springs. They have received completely new answers about both geology and biology at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean. The expedition was made by GoNorth, that through its research, makes important contributions to the work being done internationally on sea, climate and the environment.
