SILK STOCKINGS (’57) marked the second of two films in which Astaire and Charisse co-starred. Their first co-starring picture was the 1953 M-G-M musical The Band Wagon.  
 
The film is a musical remake of NINOTCHKA ('39).  
 
“I loved making that film,” Charisse told us. “It was a good role for me to play. Gene Loring did wonderful choreography for the film.”
