"It has been a privilege for me to direct the video ‘The Day I Was Born’. I have lived in several cities in my country and have friends spread all over the world, and of all nationalities. I think there are things that we share, regardless of our place of origin, almost as if they were planted there from the beginning.
I consider that the album ‘Autumn Variations’ is an album with an incredible universe and essence. All of us, or at least most of us, at some point have seen ourselves in different stages of life, having our birthday as a compass. Since I heard the song, it took me on a journey through the memories of my life at my current 24 years old, and the life stories of those I know. Many of us are far from home, many of us have worked somewhere without fitting in, or we have put our joy in the couple with whom we share life at that moment, and when the person leaves, they also take a lot of us with them. We must also remember that in real moments we only have fewer people than the fingers on our hands.
I am deeply grateful to my entire team, for having invested in two days of filming, an impressive amount of heart for the project, and the community that opened spaces for us, and friends who traveled just to be present and support me in this. A dream come true. For me it was important to listen to the whole album over and over again, X was my favorite album, now I'm not sure. I even wrote a short script for each of the songs, trying to feel Ed's universe. I think that more than any label or name, good stories always come with us.” - Mike Bautista
